February 2025

February 2025 Update: Progress in Provider Enrollment, Research, and Professional Development

As we step into February 2025, I wanted to take a moment to share some updates on my journey within the behavioral health field. The past few months have been filled with progress, challenges, and exciting opportunities for growth.

Provider Enrollment: In Process but Still TBD

I am currently in the process of credentialing with several major organizations, including United Behavioral Health, Community Health Group, Magellan Health, the Regional Center of San Diego, and Kaiser Permanente. While becoming an official provider is still to be determined, I remain optimistic about the steps ahead. Navigating the credentialing process requires patience, persistence, and meticulous attention to detail, and I am committed to seeing it through.

Beginning Research on Function-Based AAC Devices

Another exciting development is the start of my research process on function-based augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. This project aims to explore how AAC devices can be tailored to support individuals with communication challenges based on their specific needs and behavioral functions. By applying function-based assessments, we can improve communication outcomes and enhance the quality of life for those who rely on these technologies. This research is still in its early stages, but I am eager to dive deeper and contribute meaningful findings to the field.

Moving Forward

As February unfolds, I remain focused on these key areas: finalizing my provider status, and laying the groundwork for my research. I appreciate the support of colleagues, mentors, and peers who continue to inspire and encourage me along this path.

If you have insights on function-based AAC devices, I’d love to connect! Let’s collaborate and work toward meaningful advancements in behavioral health and communication accessibility.

Stay tuned for more updates, and here’s to a productive and inspiring month ahead!
